Botox® 

Botox® treats lines and wrinkles caused by muscle movement in the face.  It stops the nerve innervation to the small face muscles which temporarily reduces or stops muscle from contraction, creating a smoother, less wrinkled appearance.  Over time, these wrinkle lines will often soften, fade, reduce or resolve, creating a more natural and youthful appearance.  

 

Botox® is FDA approved for moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults, although can be safely used in other areas of the face as well. Onset of action is usually within 2-3 days and the full effect takes place by 2 weeks. Treatment generally lasts 10-16 weeks, depending where injected. The more regular the initial treatments, the longer the wrinkle reduction will last long term.
